Kalimnell: The Life, Times and Death of Jeffrey Orton
The port town of Kemmer is location on the very southeastern tip of the continent of Kalimnell. It is a fairly large town of about 7000-8000 people. It’s primary exports include warm climate seafood, like crab and shark. Also salts, oils, and silks. These exports have allowed the town to grow in wealth and power.
Kemmer was designed with trade in mind, as such it is fortified with large walls and a gate; however the walls are merely a way to control trade. There is only one entrance on the land bound portion of Kemmer, with the rest of the area solid wall standing 20 feet high. The town and most of the population are wealthy as a result of the enormous amount of high priced trade goods produced there. Kemmer is ruled by a council, and although it has a mayor he is simply a spokesman. Very little power is afforded to him except to carry out the decrees of the council. Also because of the wealth and prosperity of the city the guards are well armed and outfitted. A raven perched on an olive branch is the towns emblem. This signifies the towns prosperity and diversity. The crest is stamped on all goods produced there. It can also be seen on any government owned building, the armor worn by the guards, and any official notices. Posted on the front gates are the primary laws of the city in seven different languages. It reads as follows.Kemmer
