Kalimnell: The Life, Times and Death of Jeffrey Orton
Krausgaurd is noted for it’s heavily structured, almost police state governing. Laws are strictly upheld, and crime is kept well in check. The citizens are rarely happy to live here, but would not move anywhere else because they have been indoctrinated to believe that the rest of the continent is overrun with crime. Thus, they feel safe and secure in Krausgaurd and find contentment where they lack pleasure. Drinking is restricted, prostitution prohibited, and thievery almost unheard of. Many crimes are punishable by death, so few people step out of line. It’s economy is maintained by the constant flow of trade that runs through, although very few people actually stay for longer than a few days.
